It’s a great app. But, please make it available in the free version. Please add a translation feature to allow us to correct mistakes in exercises. I am just beginning Spanish. My vocabulary is limited. I completed a spanish exercise. I didn’t understand their words. That would be great.
Excellent, but not forgiving of small errors. It requires that the user puts in some effort, which is a good thing. Audio exercises that can be clearly spoken (no text to speech nonsense) and a flexible learning method. There are a few small bugs, but nothing major. It’s been in my possession for the past two years. I don’t expect any major changes.
Overall, I love this tool. I have used Duolingo, and also subscribe to Babbel. Both are not as useful at the advanced and intermediate levels. Two complaints are mine: 1. There is no way to disable sound effects. Because it drives my partner insane, I can’t practice without headphones. 2.) 2.) I do not like Spanish lessons. I don’t want to learn Spanish Spanish. Perhaps it could be a separate option. These two factors are enough to lower my overall rating.
This app allows you to combine learning and helping others learn. You can earn extra points for helping others. Teaching and learning are both enjoyable to me. Many native English speakers don’t know much about grammar. Many English speakers are unable to grasp grammar and click on “it’s perfect”. This is a problem that I see in many native English speakers.
Busuu is my favourite way to learn spanish. It is easy to use, has a balance of speaking, pictures, social media, quizzes and photos. You will be rewarded with fun points if you reach your goal. Quizzes allow you to review what words and grammar you have already learned, so that everything is fresh in your mind. I love the community sections where we can all critique each others’ speech. Thank you for this great app! It’s been a lot of fun!
Busuu is an excellent way to learn a new language. Its technical state is a problem. Sometimes, lessons wouldn’t load or work properly, sometimes the translation was a little strange and sometimes there were missing text or display issues. These are minor issues that rarely occur. These problems, as far as I know, are not present on Busuu’s Web-page version. If you have any problems, please try the webpage version. It might work.
The app is great, but I don’t like the writing/speaking lessons that require you to correct the answers by someone (and because I can’t write answers on my chromebook, I can’t write them), so I must speak every time. My phone would ping whenever there was a correction. I had to disable notifications. This should be optional. The benefits are great, but it is not something I like. Lessons don’t work offline, even though I paid for them.
There are some strengths and some weaknesses to this app. The best thing about this app is its active, engaged community of language learners that will help with your writing and pronunciation. The subscription is worth the cost if you don’t have native speakers. The biggest flaw is the poorly designed coursework, especially in the Chinese module. The lessons are not engaging or immersive. This app is not immersive or engaging. I recommend that you supplement your learning with other resources.
It is very user-friendly. Excellent lessons and pacing. It’s a much better alternative than duolingo. Instead of being distracted by adds, you only need to see one (1) video for each lesson. This app is highly recommended, especially for Japanese.
